New App
Just putting the final touches on our submission and we had a question. Our solution did not exist prior to the Challenge Submission Period, but upon finding out about the contest realized our solution could be used as a patient engagement tool – this was in December. Should we be considered NEW?

Hi MyCareConnect,
If your app was created after the start of the submission period (November 4, 2013) then you should list the App Status as "New." If it existed prior to November 4th, please list the App Status as "Existing."
Best,
Serena

So if we started building the app before Nov 4, only went live with part of it in Dec, does that mean it "existed" before Nov 4?
In Dec, we added additional features specific to the challenge so that is why we want to be clear about the word "created". If you mean “created from scratch” and that no coding could have begun before Nov. 4, then we would be considered “existing” and we are more than happy to detail those additional features. We want to be mindful of the rules and want to represent ourselves the proper way.

Hi MyCareConnect,
Thanks for your message and your careful attention to the rules!
If your app was not public prior to November 4, 2013, then you can go ahead and choose "New."
Good luck!
